Charles "Chick" Edward Marentette III, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on September 17, 1942, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Chick was the son of Charles Edward Marentette II and Madelyn Marentette. He built a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors.

Chick is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Nancy; his daughter, Christa Webber; and his son, Charles Marentette IV. He was a proud grandfather to Quinn Marentette, Lauren Marentette, Hope Andersen, and Holly Webber, each of whom brought him great joy. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Dalvini. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Giles.

Throughout his career, Chick was well known in the Traverse City community for his work in clothing sales at Pratt's and later in sales at Ferguson's, where his warm personality and genuine kindness made lasting impressions on customers and coworkers alike.

After retiring, Chick embraced the life he loved. He and Nancy spent their winters in Green Valley, Arizona, where he enjoyed hiking the desert trails with friends. Summers were spent on the waters of West Grand Traverse Bay, sailing his boat and caring for the flowers and gardens that reflected his patience and love of nature.

Above all, Chick was a man of unwavering faith. A dedicated member of Mission Hill Church, he lived his life with a strong Christian conviction and a servant's heart. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Chick will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steadfast faith, love of family, and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Mission Hill Church would be greatly appreciated.
