Traverse City - Charles Rahn, 64, of Traverse City passed away April 27, 2017 at Tendercare in Traverse City.
Chuck was born on December 6, 1952 in Elgin, Illinois. After graduating from Addison high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country honorably in Vietnam and was discharged in 1972. Upon returning from the service, he moved to northern Michigan.
Chuck was a manager at several local restaurants. He spent his time with his partner and best friend of 29 years, Barbara Rogers. Together they enjoyed travelling, going to Vegas to watch the shows, and going out to eat. They loved Boones. He also enjoyed going to Frankenmuth, puttering in his garage and watching NCIS. Chuck also enjoyed serving as Police Reservist. Chuck cherished their shelties: Lady and Laddie. He will be greatly missed by Barbara, her daughter Toni (Loren) Bristol, her grandson Jake, her sister Virginia (Tom) Lant, and their special friend Laurie Herheim.
The funeral service celebrating Chuck's life will be held at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11 am. He will be laid to rest at Benzonia Township Cemetery.
Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #2780 and the United States Army.
Memorial contributions in memory of Chuck may be directed to the family.
