Born on July 25, 1932, in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Stevens. On Nov 5,1956, in St. Claire Shores, he married the love of his life, Johanna Martiena Kerhof.
He was a proud veteran who served with the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Charles has been a resident of the Williamsburg area since 1987, and was a long time members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids.
He was a self-made man who owned several business..
Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Johanna M. Stevens, of Williamsburg; son, James (Mary) Stevens of Waterford; daughter, Sandra (Kenneth) Borg, of Grosse Pointe Farms, daughter-in-law, Sharon Stevens; grandson, Brandon Stevens of Milford; sister, Marion Poma of Lexington and brother, John (Joan) Stevens of Washington.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his oldest son, Joseph Stevens; and brothers, George, Robert, Donald and William Stevens.
A Mass from the Order of Christian Burials will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 10, 2013, with Rev. Fr. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding
Burial of his urn will take place privately at Williamsburg Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions in his name may be directed to the Fr. Fred Foundation, Memorial envelopes may be obtained at the church.
