Charlotte Mary Blonshine, 72, of Maple City, went to the Lord on July 13, 2017.
Charlotte was born October 31, 1944 to Raymond and Genevieve (Wright) Grubb in Traverse City and later attended Glen Lake High school.
On March 24, 1967, she married her best friend, Robert 'Bob' Blonshine, in Traverse City. They built their forever home in Maple City on the Leelanau Peninsula. For more than 20 years Charlotte managed the fitness center in Maple City where she enjoyed taking care of the plants as well as the infinite conversations with the members, many of whom became good friends.
Charlotte loved country music and was often found line dancing throughout the area, especially at the Hayloft. Charlotte also enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens, especially tending to her roses. On most days, a visitor to Charlotte and Bob's house would find a jigsaw puzzle under construction, just one of her many pastimes.
During the beautiful Northern Michigan summers Bob and Charlotte would be found at an area campground enjoying a good campfire with their friends. Charlotte's favorite camping spots were anywhere with a lake so that they could enjoy time out on the boat, with Turtle Lake being her favorite. Charlotte will always be remembered for her ambitious decorating during many holidays, and holiday dinners. Charlotte also had a big love for the color red.
Charlotte was very passionate and exhibited a lot of love towards her grandsons. She was a very familiar face at just about any of their school or life events, but most especially their sporting events. Just one week ago, Charlotte was found running around anxiously perusing the results after her oldest grandson ran the Cherry Festival 5k.
Charlotte is survived and missed dearly by her husband, daughter Donna (Tom) King, son Robert (Cherry) Blonshine Jr., Sister Sharron (Peter) Schettek, and Brothers Raymond and Bob Grubb. She is also survived and very missed by her grandsons; Thomas (Katie), Michael (Sarah) and Aaron (Bethanie) King.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, her brothers - Frankie and Kenneth Grubb and her sister Jackie Covey.
A Funeral Mass will take place Monday July 17, 2017 at 11:00am at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Charlotte's final resting place will be at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
