Charlotte Ann Peterson Bohlmeyer, of Suttons Bay and Fort Meyers, FL, passed into the presence of Jesus on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Char was a devoted wife, mother, gramma, daughter, sister and aunt and was an inspiration to family, friends and co-workers. She loved to garden, paint, play the piano and laugh. She graduated from Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Chicago and was a devoted nurse. She worked for the Village of Park Forest (IL) Health Department for 32 years. After retiring, she volunteered at the free medical clinic of Pacific Garden Mission in downtown Chicago.

Char loved to entertain family and friends. Everyone felt very loved and special in her presence. She and Dan loved to travel, attend concerts and spend time in their Florida Home.

Char is survived by her husband Dan, who she married on Dec. 18, 1959 in Wheaton, IL; her daughter Elizabeth Jordan of St. Charles, IL; her grandchildren, Madison Jordan and Eric Jordan, both of St. Charles, IL; her parents, Benjamin and Betty Peterson of Traverse City; her sister, Nancy Peterson of Traverse City; her nephews and niece, Ben (Shelley) of Houston, TX, Stefen of Mendota, IL, Anders of Mendota, IL, Charles (Elizabetta), Rebecca Charlotte (Tom) Peterson-Frediani of Batavia, IL and her great nieces and nephews, Rachel Charlotte, Hannah, Taylor, Liz, Jasmin, Dylan, Jacob, Haley and Mason.

Visitation for Char will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City with a service of celebrating Char's life beginning at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Robin Long of Suttons Bay Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Amble Cemetery near Howard City in the spring.
