Charlotte Bernice Schulz

Charlotte Bernice Schulz (nee Eby), age 90, went on to Glory on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. She was born Friday, June 10, 1927 in Detroit to Henry and Ella (Neumann) Eby.

Charlotte was a loving, devoted, and involved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her favorite pass times were baking, cooking, sewing, and entertaining. Here friends express that she epitomized grace and love.

She was a very faithful child of God and an involved member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Churches, Peace – Detroit, Emmaus – Detroit, St. Paul's – Farmington, and Trinity – Traverse City. She volunteered on Finance Boards, Ladies Aids, PTAs, and sewed children's choir robes, graduation gowns, costumes for plays, and many other jobs around the churches and schools as needed.

She worked for US Immigration before she had a young family to raise and worked for AAA for 25+ years as the family became more independent. She also served her community of Traverse City as a volunteer when possible.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters Judith (Robert) Cochran, Barbara Swindlehurst and Carol (Donald) Bakke; grandchildren Christina (Kyle) Huber, Adam (Lindsey) Cochran, Teresa (Peter) Dzelski, Ken Swindlehurst, Dan Cochran, Crystal Bakke, Michael Swindlehurst; and 9 Great-Grandchildren

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Edward F. Schulz; her siblings Florence Volpel, William Eby, and Robert Eby and her great granddaughter Cecilia.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City, with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Pastor Robert Zagore will officiate services.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Hosanna Tabor Lutheran Church in Redford, MI, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

Charlotte will be interred at Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia, MI.
