January 16, 1962 — March 17, 2025

Cheryl Lynn Woodring, age 63, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Cheryl was born on January 16, 1962, in Great Falls, Montana, to Edgar and Delores (Fleming) Zampich. She was raised in Rogers City, Michigan and graduated with the class of 1980 Rogers City High School. After high school, she attended Northwestern Michigan College, where she earned her LPN license. Cheryl dedicated many years to caring for others as a nurse, working at Munson Medical Center, Great Lakes Orthopedic, and later for Mary Panek and the Women's Resource Center.

The love of Cheryl's life was Rodney Gerald Woodring. Their beautiful love story led to marriage on April 24, 1999, at St. Michael's Church. Together, they embraced life to the fullest, sharing countless adventures, unwavering support, and a deep abiding friendship.

Cheryl had an enthusiastic and dedicated spirit, evident in her involvement with the Traverse City Elks Lodge #323, where she proudly served as Exalted Ruler and held various board positions. She was also a drummer for GT Pipes and Drums, finding extraordinary joy in music and camaraderie. She enjoyed golfing, going on Jeep adventures and sporting clays alongside Rodney, always eager to try something new and enjoy time together.

Her adventurous spirit led her to Oktoberfest celebrations for the past 14 years, a tradition she treasured with dear friends, Amy and Tony. She also adored her time spent in Frankenmuth, embracing its charm as often as possible.

Above all, Cheryl loved her family deeply. She was a kind, compassionate, and extraordinary woman whose warm soul and welcoming nature left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her radiant smile, infectious joy, and boundless love will be remembered forever. Even through her recent health challenges, Cheryl's strength and loving spirit never wavered.

She is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate, Rodney; her children, Edward Clairmont, Travis Clairmont, and Kristine Woodring; her mother, Delores; and her sister, Sharon (Zampich) Hepner, and sisters Connie Odekirk, Barbara (Kevin) McCandless. She is also lovingly remembered by Rodney's family, including his mother, Mary Woodring, siblings, Roland (Carol) Woodring and Pam (Bruce) Bankey and countless friends and extended family from both the Elks Lodge and her GT Pipes and Drums family.

Memorial contributions can be made in Cheryl's honor and directed to Rodney, who will ensure they support her favorite Elks charities.

Cheryl's kindness, love and unwavering spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
