Christine Cecilia Love, 89, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Christine was born on June 1, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Jack and Stella (Bushman) Love. She spent most of her adult life in Macomb County, where she worked at Allied Ventilation for many years, remaining active professionally well into her 80s.

Christine gave freely of her time and resources throughout her life. She was a dedicated volunteer at Meals on Wheels and ushered at the Fox Theatre, Fisher Theatre, and Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.

Christine had an adventurous spirit - she traveled the world, went skydiving at age 77, and even walked on hot coals. Most of all, she loved her family and was an involved grandmother and great-grandmother.

Christine is survived by her sister, Bernadette Love; children: Susan (Jim) Reed, Karen (Gordy) Woods, Keith (Kristen) Kirkwood, and Kevin (April) Kurkowski; grandchildren: Brian (Amy), Melissa (Josh), Jennifer, Jasmine, Kelly (Kurt), Isabella, Brittney (Lucas), Cecilia (Ben), and Jane; great-grandchildren: Katie, Megan, Rebecca, Clara, Stella, Maxwell, Wayne, Daniel Thomas, Johnathon, and Alice; step-grandchildren: Eric (Danielle), Matt, Alaina (Steven), and Evan.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, John Kurkowski Sr.; her son, John Kurkowski Jr.; and siblings, Dawn Love and Jack Love Jr.

Per Christine's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
