Chris Barrett, age 75, of Traverse City, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Chris was a 1980 graduate of NMC and also attended Michigan Technical Trade School. He was an outgoing man with a great work ethic, which was seen in his time working for Sheild's restaurant, Riverside Insurance, and Walmart. He was a loyal caretaker for his father for over 6 years and had a passion for nature, the outdoors, and animals. He especially loved horses, whom he had a special connection with. Chris also enjoyed boats, cars, woodworking, and watching western movies.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Marian (Davis) Barrett, and his brother, Charles "Cully" Barrett.

He is survived by his sister, Candice (James) Westerfield; sister-in-law, Valerie Barrett; uncle, Richard (Mary Lou) Davis; beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the Garden Tent at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St. Traverse City. A luncheon will follow. Memorial contributions may be given to the Inland Seas of Suttons Bay.
