Christopher Jason Thorpe

Christopher Jason Thorpe, 28, of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 1, 2017.

Chris was born on May 13, 1989 in Traverse City to Jason B. Thorpe and Lisa A. Gauthier. He graduated from Kalkaska High School in 2008. He married Rose Fournier on July 8, 2015 in Traverse City.

Honorably Chris served our Country in the United States Army Reserve for 7 years.
Chris worked for Gypsum Supply and Streeters. He was also known as Christyle, "King of The North" in the Michigan's Most Wanted Rap Group. He loved to write and perform his music. He also enjoyed collecting guns and working on cars.

Chris was always giving and loving to others. His happiest day, was the birth of his daughter.
Surviving Chris is his wife Rose; daughter Morgan; parents Jason and Lisa; siblings Jason, Jesslyn, Adriane, Ayshya and Bryce Gauthier, grandmothers Katherine Harrison and Diana Thorpe; God Mother Nancy Schwall; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Chris is preceded in death by his grandfather's Daniel J. Gauthier Sr. and Bruce D. Thorpe; uncle Patrick Christopher Gauthier and Godfather Clint A. Emert.

Visitation will be held from 3-8pm on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Friday September 8, 2017 with a visitation starting at 10am. Burial will take place at the Barnum Cemetery in Mayfield. Celebration of his life will also take place at Streeters immediately after services. Memorial contributions may be directed to Chris's family for Morgan.
