Clara Vernessa Moore, 83, of Traverse City and formerly of Dearborn and Lakeland, FL, died Monday, December 30, 2013 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.

Clara was born on Saturday, December 06, 1930 to the late Thomas and Jesse (Kirton) Gotts in Cass City, MI. Clara married William Daniel Moore on Saturday, June 27, 1953 at Mt. Olivet Church in Dearborn and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Clara grew up in Cass City, then moved to Dearborn, where she and her husband raised their family. She moved to Traverse City in 2007 from Florida. She was a member of Cherry Hill Presbyterian in Dearborn for 40 years and Lakeland Hills Presbyterian in Lakeland, FL. During retirement. Clara enjoyed yoga and Tai Chi.

Clara is survived by her daughters Kaye Lynn (Michael) Doane of Armada, Deanna (John) Prokes of Traverse City, sons, William Douglas (Lynne) Moore of Romulus, Thomas Edward Moore of Jacksonville, FL and Daniel Frederick (Cris) Moore of LaQuinta, CA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Troy, Taylor and Tara Doane, Rudolph (Lauren), Ian (fiance Mackenzie Donohue) and Joseph Prokes, Steven and Carolyn Moore, Jacquelynn, Tammie and Jamie Moore and Angella and Alec Moore, as well as her great grandson Rudolph. Clara is also survived by her siblings, Fred (Alma) Gotts of Livonia and June Hyry of Dearborn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Raymond Andrews and brothers Glenn and Robert Andrews.

No formal services will be held. Clara's cremated remains will be placed next to those of her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
