Clare Eugene Fewins
TRAVERSE CITY – Clare "Bubba" Eugene Fewins, age 85, of Traverse City, passed away, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in the loving care of his family.
Clare was born May 21, 1932 in Traverse City, MI to Clarence and Elsa (VanDendrishe) Fewins. Clare was a lifelong resident of Traverse City; he grew up on a centennial farm out in Long Lake Township. He started his career as a butcher, and then worked as a meat inspector for the State of Michigan, Department of Agriculture, and ended his career as a heavy weights and measures inspector.
He was loving, kind, and his family meant everything to him. He will be dearly missed by his family and all those lives he touched. Clare was an avid outdoorsman, who dearly loved to hunt and fish.
Clare is survived by his wife; Josephine Fewins, children; Scott Fewins, Shelly (Larry) Glazier, Susan (Kim) Reece, Sandi (Richard) Stowe all of Traverse City, step-children; Sarah Baker, Traverse City, and Paul Griffiths, Grand Rapids, MI, grandchildren; Justin (Sandra) Revnell, Ginny (Jared) Bilacic, of Traverse City, Kohl (Molly) Stowe, Posin, MI, Katie Stowe, Traverse City, Zachary and Allison Baker, and Cody Fewins, all of Traverse City, great-grandson, Evan Bilacic, Traverse City, brothers; Loren (Barbara) Fewins, Donald (Valerie) Fewins, and Millard Fewins, sisters; Marlene (Larry) Clark, and Loretta Fewins.

Clare was preceded in death by his parents; Clarence and Elsa, first wife, Virginia Fewins, sister-in-law, Billie Fewins, and infant brother, Ronald Fewins.

A graveside service for Clare will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Linwood Cemetery, Tim Harding will officiate. A lunch will follow immediately following the graveside service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be directed to your charity of choice.
