---- — LAKE BARRINGTON, Ill. — Clarence Hobart "Fritz" Hults, 90, passed away peacefully Jan. 25, 2012, at his home with his family at his side.Clarence was a Traverse City resident for most of his life, before moving three and a half years ago to Lake Barrington, Ill. Born in Lake City on Aug. 31, 1921, he was the son of Clarence E. and Velma Hults.Clarence married Helen Seabrook in San Francisco on July 26, 1943, while serving in the United States Navy. Helen preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 1991. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Martha Reissene; and his parents.Clarence served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945 in San Francisco and New Caledonia.Clarence was a lifelong member of the Traverse City Congregational Church.He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge, the Knights Templar and the Traverse City Shrine Club.Clarence is survived by a son, Richard "Dick," and wife, Peggy, of Barrington Hills, Ill.; a daughter, Barbara, and husband, David, Burgess of Ionia; granddaughters, Natasha (Geoff) Flanagan, of Chicago, and Tania (Martijn) Bouwman, of Wilmette, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra Flanagan, and Mark and Claire Bouwman.Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
