TRAVERSE CITY — "Casey" Clarence R. Kevwitch, 81, of Traverse City, passed away June 10, 2011, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Casey was born on Aug. 7, 1929, in Traverse City, to the late Herman and Elsie (Durga) Kevwitch. Casey attended Western Michigan University, the University of Michigan and graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1954. He opened his dental office in the East Lansing area, where he practiced for 42 years. In his spare time Casey enjoyed big game hunting, downhill skiing, fishing and golf. He and his wife, Mickie, wintered in Bonita Springs, Fla., and were members at the Pelican Nest Golf Club. Casey and Mickie were world travelers. Casey was also a member of the Holy Cross Orthodox Church in Florida and the Archangel Orthodox Church in Traverse City. Casey is survived by his wife, Mickie; his sisters, Iva Bates and Margaret Reutter; brother, Carl (Dorothy) Kevwitch; sons, Kevin (Gerri) Kevwitch, Dr. Mansel Kevwitch and Jerry (Suzy) Clark; daughter, Cynthia (Stephen) Kan; grandchildren, John (Angela) Norvell, Kimberly (Jason) Sousa, Elizabeth Clark, Caleb Kevwitch, Caroline Kevwitch, Decker Kevwitch, Chance Kevwitch, Gabrielle Hoffman and Geoffrey Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Clark and Gabe Sousa; sisters-in-law, Della (Dr. Jerry) Powell and Ellie (Dwight) Demitz; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two loyal, four-legged buddies, Tesa and Mikey. Casey was preceded in death by his sisters, Henretta Parkins, Grace Anderson and Mary Kevwitch. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m., with Panakheda to begin at 7 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The service for Casey will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 11 a.m., at Grace Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Ogdensburg Cemetery. The pall bearers will be Jim Perry, Stephan Kan, Kevin Kevwitch, Dr. Mansel Kevwitch, John Norvell, Caleb Kevwitch, Decker Kevwitch and Chance Kevwitch.
