Clarence "Buz" Richard Busboom, 89, of Traverse City, passed away on February 3, 2018. Clarence was born on April 29, 1928 in Gifford, Illinois, to the late Rankin G. and Anna B. (Meier) Busboom. Clarence honorably served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
He married Marian B. Strain on September 1, 1978 in Southfield, MI and the couple celebrated 40 years of marriage together.
Clarence lived in Gifford IL., Newark DE, Sterling Heights, Royal Oak, New Orleans and Cape Kennedy prior to moving to Traverse City. He worked as a cost estimator for Aerospace and in customer service/sales for Robert Shaw Controls in the Uni-liine Division. He was a member of Elks Club, Free and Accepted Masons, Senior Center and Grawn United Methodist Church. In retirement he loved to golf and drive for Hertz Rental Car.
He is survived by his wife Marian; brother,, Leon B. (Virginia) Busboom; step-daughter, Deborah (Barry) Marsh, Shawn (Ray) C. Hampton; step-son, John P. Bauer; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin G. Busboon, Vernon E. (Betsey) Busboom, and Norman D. Busboom.
A family gathering will take place in the summer.
