TRAVERSE CITY — Clarence N. Thibeaut, 95, of Elk Rapids, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2010.Clarence was born on Oct. 17, 1914, in Ludington, to Napoleon and Eradeen (Belland) Thibeaut. He married Mollie Weber on May 31, 1934. She preceded him in death in 1961. Clarence retired as a supervisor from Fisher Body in Flint in 1972. Later in life, he enjoyed the company of Ena Baker. She also preceded him in death. Clarence resided in Manistee for many years. He appreciated fishing and hunting in northern Michigan and also relished his trips to the casino. Clarence was a lifetime member of The Manistee Muzzle Loaders Club and The Eagles Club.He will be dearly missed by his family and friends who greatly enjoyed his wit and humor.Clarence is survived by his daughters, Donna (George) Parker of Eastport, Barbara Grimes of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Laura (Mark) Duquette of Flint; his grandchildren, Brad (Michelle), Susan (Jeff), Tracy (John), Penny (Todd), Brian and Amy (Jerry); 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his sister, Lucille Strzynski.Besides his parents, dear wife and longtime companion, Clarence was also preceded in death by son-in-law, Billy; and his six siblings.Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Interment will be private.Memorial donations can be directed to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or a charity of choice. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
