Claribelle Mae (Berry) Stramake, 91, passed away peacefully of natural causes in the company of her family on January 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitz. She is survived by daughter Sharon Conrad in Traverse City, grandsons Mark, in Mexico , and David (Kristen) in Traverse City, great-granddaughter Adele; daughter Linda Davis (Don) in Grand Rapids, grandchildren Erin (Scott Warner) in Chicago, great-granddaughters Maya and Zadie, and Trevor (Claudia Zimmerman) in Germany, great-granddaughters Kaija and Matilda; daughter Diane McKay (Ron) in Dearborn, grandsons Brandan and Ryan in Dearborn.
Claribelle was born on November 5, 1921 in Newberry, Michigan, where she lived until age 20. She was married to Mitz Stramake on July 1, 1944 until he passed away in 1983. She lived in the Detroit area, primarily Allen Park, for 65 years, and then moved to Traverse City six years ago. She loved to cook and garden. Claribelle also loved to help with her grandchildren, who all adored her.
The family especially wants to thank the loving and caring staff at Orchard Creek Supportive Care in Traverse City, who cared for her like family, for the last years of her life.
A memorial service to celebrate Claribelle's life will be held in the spring in the Allen Park area. Donations in memory of Clairbelle may be made to The Salvation Army or Hospice of Michigan.
