Claude Earl Scramlin III, age 73, of Traverse City, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, great granddaughter, and many other close and extended family members. Honorably serving in the US Army, we thank him for his service to our country.

To know Claude was to love him — and honestly, you didn't have much of a choice. He had a way of walking into a room and instantly making everyone feel like family.

Family and friends were the center of his world. Claude touched countless lives just by being himself — funny, kind, stubborn, and full of life. He leaves behind stories that will be told for years, laughter that will echo in our memories, and a hole that no one else could ever fill.

Ride on, Claude. You'll never be forgotten.

He will be missed by his children, Jennifer Scramlin (Kristy Owens), Claude Scramlin IV (Pam), Stephanie Burnett (Andrew), Arthur James "AJ" Scramlin; grandchildren, Tyler Parker, Savannah Germani (Tyler), Emma Scramlin, Jace Gunter, Lexie Gunter, Miley Scramlin; great granddaughter, Saige Germani; step children, Todd Hargett, Tiffany Sloan, Travis Hargett, Tarin Hargett; siblings, Jill Nash, Joyce Bonesteel, Jane Scramlin, Deb Scramlin, John Scramlin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Scramlin in 2021; parents, Claude Scramlin II & Marjorie (Gibbons) Scramlin; and brother, George Scramlin.

Per Claude's wishes, cremation will take place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Post 16 of Lapeer, MI.
