Claudette R. Gilmore, 75, of Traverse City, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Elmwood AFC Home.

Claudette was born in Grand Rapids and at the age of four she was adopted by the late Merton and Ruby (Jarrett) Gilmore. When it was time for school, she attended Traverse Heights.

Claudette enjoyed watching movies, shopping, jewelry, reading, swimming, riding her bike and especially listening to Johnny Cash and going to the Cracker Barrell. She proudly participated in the Special Olympics for many years. The holiday season and spending time with her family brought the most joy to Claudette.

Surviving Claudette is her sister, Alice (Jack) Lardie, nieces and nephews, Timothy and Shannon Burch and Sean and Heather Lardie, great-nieces and nephews, Tessa, Jackson, Hanna, Hayden, Madison and Camryn, and many other close friends.

Claudette is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clyde Gilmore.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Old Mission Peninsula Church at 11a.m. Burial will take place at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
