TRAVERSE CITY — Cleo Kelenske, 89, a resident of French Manor in Traverse City, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Cleo was born July 8, 1921, in Traverse City, to Jesse and Pearl (Light) Forton. On April 19, 1952, Cleo married Otto Kelenske. Cleo worked many years at Bartlings and then as a buyer for Miliken's until her retirement.Cleo and Otto enjoyed playing golf and spending many hours on their boat. Cleo also loved to knit. After retirement they moved to Escandeto, Calif., and spent summers in Traverse City. They enjoyed their retirement for more than 25 years.Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; her mother; father; stepfather, Steve Rosch; and her sister, Kay Pilon.Cleo is survived by her sister, Carol Eastman, of Brownstown; stepdaughter, Sharon (Dr. Tom) Tracy, of Traverse City; three grandsons, Larry (Sonia), Barry (Margo) and Tom (Deidra); and nine great-grandchildren. Cleo also had many special nieces and nephews, including her niece, Ginger (Lyle) Rutgers, and their children, Mindy and Gregg; nephew, John (Kris) Heater; and a niece, Mary Jo (Bobby) Gordon.A memorial service will be held later in the summer at French Manor.
