Clifford Morden Lindsey, 68, of Williamsburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by his family and friends. Cliff was born on August 23, 1946 in Traverse City to the late Clifford and Betty (Rankin) Lindsey. He married Claire Reedy on August 12 1967 in Lorain, Ohio. He graduated from Clearview High School in Lorain in 1965. He received an Associate's Degree in business administration from Lorain County Community College. Clifford proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Before moving to Travers City he had been employed with Nordson Corp. in Amherst, Ohio. Cliff had been employed by R. M. Young Company retiring in 2012 after 27 years of service. Among his many interests Cliff enjoyed, farming, fishing and camping, above all spending time with his family is what gave him the most joy.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Claire; two daughters; Melissa (Rick Wilson) Lindsey and Michele (Doug) Sprick, seven grandchildren; Tyler, Allison, Brittany, Elizabeth, Madison, Stephanie and Daniel, a brother, Ernest (Alice) Lindsey and a sister, Joanne (Doug) Rounds. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law, Patricia and William Thomas. Lifelong friends, Steve and Kathy Strock.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Lindsey, a granddaughter, Courtney Sprick and a nephew, Sean Lindsey.
A funeral services honoring Clifford will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684. Mr. Michael R. Sullivan will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family one hour prior. Burial will be at a later date in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Lorain, OH.
