(Clyde) Edward Jones

Clyde Edward Jones of Acme passed away peacefully on July 12, 2016 at the age of 86 surrounded by his family. He was born in Detroit on January 24, 1930 to Clyde and Irene (Rowe) Jones.
Ed graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1948. On June 13, 1952 he married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Marie Crissey. Ed and Margaret were blessed with four children, Richard (Linda) Jones of Rochester Hills, Marie (Joseph) Haezebrouck of Highlands Ranch CO, Marilyn (Tracy) Bogle of Midland, and Sharon (Kenneth) Foster of Lake Leelanau, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 step-granddaughters and 5 step-great grandchildren and a step-sister, Juanita Bennett of Clarkston. Ed especially enjoyed family gatherings.
Ed apprenticed at a camera shop in Flint beginning in high school. He went on to become a camera repairman and retired due to his declining health in his 80s. Ed was well-known by photographers and camera shops in Michigan and beyond for his talent. Ed was an excellent carpenter, having built much of the furniture in his home. He enjoyed photography, pistol shooting, golf and traveling. He and Margaret traveled internationally with Friendship Force International. They also traveled the US in their RV and wintered in Tucson, AZ. Ed was a volunteer at Munson Medical Center and enjoyed the many people he met there.
Ed was a very kind, loving, and patient man. Even with his sudden health decline he never complained and always thanked those who cared for him. His family would like to thank the staff at Traverse Victorian Senior Living and Hospice of Michigan for the loving care he received.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father George Rablee, and step-brother Clarence Rablee.
Visitation will be held at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City on Sunday, July 17 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 18 at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior.
