Connie Lynn Brown, 67, of Traverse City, Mich., passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Connie was born on August 22, 1948, in Lansing to the late Donald and Phyllis Richardson. She graduated in 1966 from Charlotte High School. Her first love was that of her family; her children, sisters and family friends. Connie also loved to fish and spend any spare time she could find tending to her beautiful flower garden.

In her sassy, yet loving way, she gave of herself and her talents all the time. She made teddy bears from recycled fur coats; mended, sewed and knitted clothes and other fashions; baked cookies from a large repertoire of recipes she loved to make during the holidays; along with so many other treasures. Anything you ever received from her was a "Connie original," and you knew it was made with love.

For the past 14 years, Connie loved meeting new people every day as a bus driver for BATA. She also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Eaton Rapids and Suttons Bay. She had an interest in flying and attended the Michigan Aviation Association's Michigan Air Tour.

Connie will be forever remembered as a remarkable mother, sister and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her children, Daniel DeBarr, Jr., Teri (Dave) Jones, Clay DeBarr; step-grandsons Joshua and Jacob Jones; sisters, Doris Fox and Mary Ann (Jim) Yahmatter, and many more loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
