Connee McPhall, daughter of Leon and Hope (Smith) Cooper, passed away May 24, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born on January 1, 1942, in Traverse City, spending her entire life in the area.

Connee attended Buckley Schools, graduating with the Class of 1960. She married Gary McPhall on December 3, 1960.

Connee loved the outdoors, spending many years gardening, and bird watching. Together, Connee and Gary enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. She had a love for reading, puzzles, cribbage, and a good game of bingo. She also enjoyed teaching herself new technology and researching her family genealogy. In retirement, their time was divided between the Manistee River backwaters in the summer, and Lake Pan, Florida during the winter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary McPhall; her parents, Leon and Hope Cooper; and her brothers, Gary Komrska and Gregory Cooper.

She is survived by her children, Theresa R. (Jeff) Lhamon of Traverse City, Kris A. (Mark) Mikowski of Williamsburg, and John G. (Molly) McPhall of Brighton; grandchildren, Jack, Matthew, Kennady, Brandi, Brooke, and Brittany; great grandchildren, Kylie, Quinn, Paisley, Blaire, and Bastian; and sisters, Ruth Ann Smith, Vivian Chryst, and Linda Hendges.

Connee had a special connection with her grandchildren, Jack (Colorado), Matthew (Howell) and Kennady (Grand Rapids), following their careers and accomplishments. She was looking forward to Jack's wedding to his fiancée, Stephanie Shantz, this fall.
