Coralie 'Corky' Lamoreaux (Gilroy) passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday December 16, 2022 at Munson's Weber Heart Center in Traverse City at the age of 90.
Coralie was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on August 7, 1932 to parents Georgina M. Terrel and Harry Gilroy. She was the third of eleven children and is survived by sisters Glenda 'Glinky' Gray (Joe) and Marjorie Kohlman, and brother Donald Gilroy.
Before her recent move to Traverse City, Coralie lived a majority of her life at her home overlooking Lake Huron in St. Ignace, Michigan with loving husband of 71 years James 'Jimmy' Lamoreaux.
She is survived by four daughters, Lynda Brown (Bob), Holly Lamoreaux (Mort), Sharon Litzner (Jimmy) and Jayne Lamoreaux, as well as 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by husband Jimmy, eldest daughter Leane Mary and beloved dog Cassie.
Coralie was a mother, a wife, a sister and a friend. She was a hard worker who loved to spend her free time in the sun, tending to her flowers and regarding all of the birds and chipmunks that came to her feeders as special visitors. One of her proudest accomplishments was her 18 mile March of Dimes walk in honour and memory of late daughter Leane.
She loved her big family and will be missed dearly by them.
Coralie will be cremated and buried alongside Jim at Lakeside Cemetery in St. Ignace, with a view not so different than that of which they enjoyed from their porch at home.
Burial and memorial details will be determined at a later time.
