MUNCIE — Craig M. Desmond, 59, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born March 7, 1952, in Racine, Wis., the son of Hallet and Louise Desmond. Craig was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Muncie. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and friend, along with being an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Susan J. (Mathison) Desmond; four sons, Ryan Desmond (wife, Tiffany), Nicholas Desmond, Richard Garvin and Craig Garvin (wife, Dana); a grandson, Jacob Desmond; two sisters, Nancy Capps, of Sedalia, Mo., and Debbie Sautner (husband, Charlie), of Racine, Wis.; a brother, Dan Desmond (wife, Kimberly), of Los Angeles, Calif. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Debra, and his parents.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 West Riverside Avenue, with Pastor Dave Jewitt officiating. Cremation will take place following services. Family and friends may call from 3 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2011, also at First Presbyterian Church.
