Cristopher Vanderburg

Cristopher Vanderburg, 52, passed away peacefully from cancer on Aug. 27, 2023. He was born Sept. 8, 1970 in Traverse City. Diabetes was trying to kill his body for 40 years. His hope, joy and determination won that battle.

Cris was a moving poster man for all things positive. Every adventure and mode of sport from hiking, running, canoeing, kayaking and especially biking in all seasons was met with sheer joy. Driving his Porsche, racing in grand events with others, rides, track days with different clubs and love of cars; absolute pleasure.

Cris is survived by his parents, Larry and Barb, his sister Joan Longton, and she and Jeffs kids, Kam, Andy and Molly and the love of his life, Annie Banks.

A gathering will take place on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023 at his parent's farm, 4914 E. Traverse Hwy around 1:00. Plan on short walks, short bike rides and conversation with friends from all walks of life that have felt the Cris Love he always demonstrated. Bring snacks, a lawn chair and any pictures or speeches you might want to share.
