TRAVERSE CITY — Cynthia Sue Swartz, 55, of Buckley, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at her home in Buckley. Cynthia was born on Aug. 18, 1954, to parents, Lee and Alice (Miller) Swartz in Northport. Cindy grew up attending school and graduating from Perry High School. She went to work with the State of Michigan Police Department, making her living for many years working in administration. Cindy eventually relocated to Northern Michigan, where she was born, and was able to attend St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Church and volunteer her time within the school. Cindy had a true love for children, filling in at the school anywhere she could and enjoying time daily with her grandkids. Cindy could often be found talking with or paling around with her granddaughters, who were an absolute joy to her. Cindy was a warm and loving person who would open her heart to anyone. Cindy will be missed as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and by the community as a whole.Cynthia is survived by her son, Geoffrey (Jennifer) Robinson, of Traverse City; her daughter, Tricia Robinson, of Lansing; five granddaughters, Alyssa, Karyssa, Alexus, Emilee and Maddison; her mother, Alice Miller; and seven siblings, Colleen Swartz, Chris Thrush, Lee Swartz, Greg Swartz, Chuck Swartz, Lisa Swartz-Medina and Laura Swartz; and many other loving family members and friends.Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Lee. Visitation for friends and family will be held from noon until 3 p.m. today, July 30, 2010, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with a vigil service to be held at 1:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael P. Conner officiating. Graveside committal services will be held in St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Cemetery Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
