Dale Joseph Harmon, 87, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away peacefully October 24, 2014 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Born in Cuyahoga Falls to Ben and Gladies Harmon, he lived most of his life in Copley, Ohio.
Dale was a Navy Lieutenant in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Kent State University and received his masters from The University of Akron. He worked as a Senior Research Associate for B.F. Goodrich and was instrumental in the development of the Liquid Chromatograph and polyvinyl chloride.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Phillips, of 63 years. Dale was a loving and proud father to his three sons, Phillip (Deb) of Harbor Springs Michigan, Paul (Jill) of Parrish, Florida, and Perry (Kris) of Traverse City, Michigan. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: James Harmon, Scott (Beth) Harmon, Lauren (Bruce) Weinkein, Emily Harmon, Kyle Harmon, Adin Harmon, and Austen Harmon and great-grandchildren Chloe and Evan Weinkein, Kimi Biswanger, and Aubrey Harmon.
