Daniel Andrew Allen, lovingly known as Danny, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025 at his home at the Maples in Frankfort.

Danny was born on June 14, 1964 in Traverse City to the late Willis C. and Barbra A (Wresinski) Allen. He was born with down syndrome and thrived throughout his life with wonderful caregivers. He lived his early life with the Irwin family in Lake Ann, then moved to Crystal View AFC in his early adulthood and finished his days at the Maples in Frankfort. Danny lived a full life.

He worked at Grand Traverse Industries where he made many friends. He was always fond of the great outdoors and often loved the simple pleasure of just sitting outside. He loved routines, keeping people off guard and was known by the Maples staff as a resident that rarely missed an opportunity to join a scheduled program. He was a faithful participant in Special Olympics where again he made many good friends. Whether in softball or his favorite sport basketball, Danny could be counted on to get out there and give it his best.

Danny is survived by his biological siblings Bill, Cathy and Jim. Additionally, he will be well remembered by his best friend Sonny Rodreguiz and Special Olympics coach Sue Weber. Danny's brothers' and sister would like to thank the staff at the Maples for the love and support they showed him while he was in their care.

Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest with his parents at Mt. Carmel in Manistee this spring. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
