Daniel "Dan" Asa Muehling, 63, of Traverse City, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Munson Medical Center with his family at his side.

Dan was born on July 31, 1962, in Traverse City, Michigan, to the late Waldemar and Mary (Houghton) Muehling. He married the love of his life, Julie Marie Freundl, on May 28, 1983, also in Traverse City. Julie preceded him in death earlier this year, and he missed her dearly every day.

Dan worked for over 35 years as a quality technician at Lear Corporation. He loved to go camping with family and friends. He also liked to take long car rides to enjoy the scenery. He was a dedicated employee, a loyal friend, and a loving husband.

He is survived by his son, Dillon Muehling,; his sister, Deborah (Craig) Kurtzal; and his brothers, Waldemar (Lynda) Muehling and Gerald (Nancy) Muehling; his father-in-law Raymond Freundl, sister-in-law Lynda Freundl and brother-in-laws Lawrence (JoAnne) Freundl and Richard Freundl along with many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Julie and step siblings Cindy Ransom and Ronald Ransom.

Private family services will take place at a later time.
