Daniel John Flitz

Daniel John Flitz, 74, of Lake Ann, Michigan passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his home. Dan was born on June 11, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan to John and Louise (Meyer) Flitz.

Dan attended Ferris State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. After school, he returned to Saginaw and started working with Baker Perkins, he was later transferred to Raleigh, North Carolina. While in Raleigh, Dan became employed with State Farm Insurance as a Sales Representative. He continued with State Farm, until his retirement in 2012. In 2014, he moved back to Michigan, joining his father in Lake Ann. John called Dan his "angel", for caring for him over the years.
Dan was a car enthusiast; he was able to spot any make and model. He also loved trains, both real and models. One of his favorite vacations was an Alaskan cruise that Dan and John took, the trip included a train trip across Alaska and another train trip across Canada.

Dan enjoyed swimming, he had a great sense of humor, he paid attention to the details and he had an endless knowledge for trivia.

Dan is survived by his father, John and two sisters; Linda (Philip) Liethen and Julie Maeder. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Caroline Liethen, Kurt (Dr. Yuliya Malayev) Liethen, Jack Carder and Christopher Carder as well as great-niece, Mara and great-nephew, Levi.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Flitz.

In accordance with Daniel's wishes cremation has taken place.

Daniel's family is planning a memorial service for a later date.
