Born in Flint, Michigan at St. Joseph's hospital to his proud parents Daniel and Susan Kelsey, Dan and his band of brothers had a family foundation of such love and unwavering support. He joins his brothers Todd and Brad Kelsey on hunts through the heavens for buck, bear, fish, and morels. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, uncles, aunt, and father-in-law.
Surviving brothers Scott (Kristi) Kelsey and Brian (Jeanne) Kelsey shall strive to share his booming voiced stories over and over again just as he retold them. Dan's giant of a heart would overflow evermore upon meeting the love of his life, his wife Melissa. His bright smile and appreciation of the world's wonders live on through his children, Daniel and Heather, and his grandchildren, Gavin, Darren, Keagan, Andrew and Lincoln, and mother-in-law, Linda Crandell.
With those listed above and all of his surviving uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, Dan's larger than life personality brought together a vast family of friends that would revel in his robust laugh, competitive sass, and ability to give and give even when its initial need was not realized. His playful demeanor and determination shined in hunting, fishing, golf, pool, all things nature, and his home away from home - the Interlochen Eagles #3503 where he served as President and constant volunteer for so many People Helping People events. May we all continue his genuine mission to spread smiles, lift spirits, warm hearts, and provide a welcoming embrace to all we encounter on our journey.
A celebration of Dan's life will take place at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, at the Interlochen Eagles Club.
