Daniel Edward Morgan, 64, of Buckley/San Antonio, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 23, 2016 at his home with his wife at his side.
Daniel was born on October 15, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Edward Daniel and Doris (Sorensen) Morgan. He met Lynne Nicole Kelly in San Antonio and it was love at first sight. Five weeks later they were married in Cuero, Texas on Friday, July 13, 2012, which he referred to as a lucky day.
Daniel recently retired as a Petroleum Landman for the last 24 years. Prior to that he worked with his father owning the M & S Pump Service, maintaining well sites, platforms, and oil and gas stations. In his retirement he worked at Chum's Corners Ace Hardware, enjoyed working with fellow employees and meeting new people every day. His wife and brother-in law nicknamed him, "Dan, Dan, the Hardware Man!"
Daniel's passions were, golfing, fishing, dancing, shooting guns with his wife, and working on new projects around the house. He loved the four seasons of the North. Most of all he loved being with his children and grandchildren. Fondly, he will be remembered as Grandpa Daniel and Popsie by his three granddaughters. Daniel was a good man and always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving Daniel is his wife Lynne; children, Cody (Amy) Morgan and Jeremy (Jody) Knudsen; granddaughters, Sydney Morgan, Gracie and Sophia Knudsen; sister, Sandra Morgan, Mom, Margaret Kelly; sisters, Trish (Jim) Boersma, Kate Kelly (John Hurd), Tom Kelly, Larry Kelly, his very beloved doggie-daughter Zoe, a Plott Hound, as well as many loving family members and friends.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Edward Daniel and Doris Morgan (Sorenson), and brother Stephen Houston Morgan.
Visitation will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 5-7pm. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 11am on Friday May 27, 2016. Kindly share thoughts and memories with Daniel's family at
