TRAVERSE CITY — David William Bouse, 76, of Traverse City, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010. David passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.Born in Detroit on June 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Forrest Glen and Vena Geraldine (Martin) Bouse. On Dec. 5, 1987, in Sarasota, Fla., he married the love of his life, the former Suzanne Barnes.A proud veteran of the United States Army, David received an honorable discharge after being stationed in Tokyo, Japan. David received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Michigan. He was employed by Michigan State University, retiring in 1978 as a Film Supervisor for WKAR-TV, the university's PBS affiliate.During his retirement years, David and Suzanne traveled extensively on their 24-foot sailboat, the Shangri-La II. During their 12 years of sailing they experienced a lifetime of wonderful experiences and memories.David was a member of the Senior Bowling and Golf Leagues. He will be fondly remembered for his outgoing personality. David never met a stranger.He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Bouse, to whom he affectionately referred as his "Bride"; children, Glenn (Loretta) Bouse, of Ypsilanti, Brian (Sarena) Bouse, of Canton, Dawnn (David) Callis, of Gallatin, Tenn., Kevin (Allison) Bouse, of Clinton, and Jon (Cynthia) Bouse, of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; sister, Lynda Forrester, of California; nephew, Michael Forrester (Cathy), of Canton; and niece, Sharyn (Matt) of Mattingley, of California.A private service was held for the family.
