David "Dave" Lee Garver, 59, of Suttons Bay, passed away leaving behind his beautiful family to recognize that this world has truly lost a great man.
Dave was born on December 17, 1961 to the late Ronald and Gail (Winans) Garver in Gladwin, MI. He was one of five children. Beyond his parents, he now joins to rejoice his brother Donald "Donnie" and his precious twin sons Michael and Joseph.
Like a kid in the candy store, you could find Dave fishing the creeks with his daughters and smiling with delight, you could find him in his boat on the lake just soaking in the environment, enjoying his time with the chickens he loved to raise or you could find him tending to the best flower gardens that he mastered in all of the county. But one thing you would never find Dave doing was not loving and living life to the fullest, especially when his family was by his side.
Dave is survived and missed dearly by his partner of more than 17 years, Ellen, children; Matasha (Tyler) Megil, Ashley (Justin Meyers) Garver and Shanda (Scott) Garver-Knowles. His precious grandchildren; Shane, Nayeli, Aiden, Josh, AJ, Jada, Scott, Sebastian, and Sofia. Stepchildren; Nicole Candice, Chelsea and Nathaniel, brother Ronnie (Vera), sisters Renee (Larry) and Kelly (Sam), mother of his children Lela, special uncles Lucky (Lee) Winans and Larry Winans and honorary Aunt and friend Lucy "Dot" Daniels as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 4-8pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring the larger-than-life man will take place on Friday August 27, 2021 at 10:00am also at the funeral home, with visitation from 9-10am. Dave will be laid to rest with his parents and twin sons at Gladwin Highland Cemetery.
