On June 15th, 2022 David passed to meet our Lord and Savior. He died peacefully at home with loved ones Jane Dean and son David at his side.

Dave was born August 5th, 1933 and spent the majority of his life in Empire and then Traverse City in his later years. Dave enjoyed being outdoors and worked much of his life doing construction and maintenance work. He worked for the National Park Service providing maintenance and purchasing services for a number of years before retiring. Dave was an avid hunter, fisherman and also enjoyed golf and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Margaret Grattopp; his beloved wife Barbara sister Lois and twin sons Brian and Brett. A private family service will be held with David being laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire, Michigan.
