David Wayne Gregory, 73, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Traverse City.
Born on January 24, 1953, in Traverse City, he was the son of Edwin and Mary Gregory, who preceded him in death.
Dave dedicated nearly 50 years of his life to the plumbing trade, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. As the proud owner of Gregory Plumbing and Heating, he built a reputation for hard work, reliability, and craftsmanship. He was known for his willingness to help anyone in need, never turning away a job, big or small.
Outside of work, Dave enjoyed life's simple pleasures. After a long day, he often relaxed with a good book, especially enjoying western novels by Louis L'Amour. He had a passion for restoring classic cars and spent many hours working on his two 1930 coupes, transforming them into hot rods. He also devoted time to working on his dream home.
Dave was a long-standing member of Bayview Church in Traverse City. He was also accomplished in martial arts, earning his black belt in karate and sharing his knowledge as an instructor.
A true outdoorsman, Dave had a deep love for hunting, whether with a rifle, musket, or bow. He was a Life Member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and was committed to supporting wildlife conservation.
Dave will be remembered as hardworking, kind, and compassionate. To those who knew him, he was someone you could always count on—quick to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer support. As a brother, he was also a best friend, always ready with humor and encouragement.
He is survived by his siblings, Anne M. Gregory, James L. Gregory, and Linda J. White (Thomas); his nieces, Jennifer White and Lindsay Huckaba; his grandniece, Nikela White-Roseman; and many cousins and extended family members.
Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
