Obituary

Traverse City-David Lawrence "Dave" Harvey, 70, of Traverse City, died
unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, May 25, 2013, at his home.

Born June 2, 1942, in Centerline, he was one of five children born to
the late Edwin Bernard and Lena Sophia (Olsen) Harvey. On May 13, 1967,
at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake Leelanau, he married the former
Judith Kathleen Flohe.

A proud veteran, Dave served with the United States Army from 1964 to
1966 in South Korea, repairing and building bridges.

Dave's outgoing personality and friendliness coupled well with his
custodial job at Old Mission Elementary Schools and later Willow Hill
Elementary School, where he enjoyed interacting with the students and
their teachers. Later he served as a Warehouse Truck Driver for TCAPS,
delivering various items from warehouse to schools. In his earlier work life,
Dave was also employed by Traverse City Iron Works starting in 1966-until
their closing in 1983.

He was a great supporter of his grandchildren's activities, whether it
was attending a football game, track event or viewing scouting activities.
As his hobbies he enjoyed watching various sporting activities, playing
golf and cards. His greatest passion was traveling. Dave visited every
state except Oklahoma and Kansas.

David is survived by his family, Judith K. "Judy" Harvey, of Traverse
City; children, Kathleen (Douglas) Plamondon, of Traverse City, Michael
(Nancy) Harvey, of Ypsilanti and Jeffery Harvey, of Seattle, WA; three
