David Earl Heim, 73, longtime resident of the Traverse City area passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
David was born to Dorothy and George Heim on December 31, 1939.
Dave worked for Grand Traverse Construction for over 30 years and was the owner-operator for 20 of those years. He was an avid hunter, golfer, and outdoorsman and was loved by family and friends. Dave was a generous man who provided for his family without hesitation. Those who knew Dave as a friend or worked with him in the construction industry would tell you that when you saw him out and about he always had a smile on his face and a kind word. After retiring he traveled the world with his wife and friends and experienced life to it's fullest. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Vanita, sister, Myrt Heim Smith, his children; David (Debbie) Heim Jr., Loree (Mike) Collett, and Debi (Ron) Hall, grandchildren; Jennifer, Justin, Stacy, Aimee, Sam and Zach, great-grandchildren; Landon, Dillon, Scotty, Ian, Tanna and Emma as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation for friends and family to celebrate Dave's life will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
Grave-side committal services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley.
