David "Jupe" Henry Youker, Jr., 89 of Buckley passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Tendercare of Traverse City. Jupe was born on January 7, 1927 in Traverse City to the late David and Wilhelmina (Witkop) Youker. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Henigan, on November 22, 1946 in Buckley and was reunited with her on their 70th wedding anniversary. Evelyn preceded him in death on April 6, 2014. Jupe was a farmer in Buckley most of his life, he also drove truck and worked at the feed mill. He and Evelyn attended The Tabernacle Church. Jupe enjoyed attending the NW Michigan Fair and was involved with 4H. He enjoyed his draft horses and was a member of the Draft Horse Association. David was a Past President of the Buckley School Board and loved going to the kids sporting events. In his younger years Jupe enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and he was the pitcher on the undefeated Buckley team that beat the Traverse City All-Stars. Above all spending time with his family or just tinkering around the farm was his greatest joy.

Jupe is survived by four sons and two daughters; Gary (Dianne) Youker, Allen (Patricia) Youker, Jill (Mike) Lovano, John (Jennifer) Youker, Dennis (Dawn) Youker and Jan (Don) Crossman. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Madison Bailey, his sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Keith Duff, and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Amelia Green.

Friends are welcome to visit with Jupe's family on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684.

A funeral service honoring David will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visiting one hour prior, on Monday, November 28, 2016 at The Tabernacle, 213 Wexford Ave, Buckley, Michigan 49620. Pastor John Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Blair Township.
