TRAVERSE CITY — David F. Ledford, 54, of Traverse City, died Thursday morning, Feb. 17, 2011, at Munson Hospice House, surrounded by his wife, daughters and dear friends. He is now at peace following a long illness with Hepatitis C.Born June 27, 1956, in Arlington, Va., he was the son of Ronald and Bonnie (McChesney) Ledford. On April 3, 1982, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., he married the love of his life, the former Kathryn Ann Wagner.Dave was first and foremost a family man who enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling and watching football with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kathy Ledford, of Traverse City; and his cherished daughters, Emily and Kayla. He is also survived by his siblings, Dawn Marie, Dorrie, Debbie, Denise and Daniel; and his maternal grandmother, Caroline "Nana" Dupler. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie. A memorial service will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at 7 p.m., followed by a dessert reception. The Rev. John Messner will officiate.In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Munson Hospice House.
