Traverse City- Dr. David Stephenson Lint, 82, of Traverse City, passed away April 2, 2021 at Munson Medical Center.

Dave was born on April 9, 1938 in Hillsdale to the late Robert Metz and Laura Josephine (Stephenson) Lint.

Dave grew up in Hillsdale and while in high school, he met the love of his life, the former Mary Ann MacNeal, in Orchestra Class. The two high school sweethearts later married on June 28, 1958.

Dave was a proud alumnus of the University of Michigan. He was also a Captain in the United States Army. He and Mary made their home in Ann Arbor, Louisiana, and North Carolina before settling in Traverse City in 1970. Here he partnered with Dr. Ozzie Clark and started Great Lakes Orthopedic Center. Dave retired in 2004, after 34 years of fixing the fractures of many of Grand Traverse' finest kids, adults, motorcyclists, snowmobilers, skiers, and more. Since then he could barely walk down the street without bumping into former patients with grateful stories to tell.

In Dave's free time he had many hobbies and interests. He was a true renaissance man and found enjoyment playing the violin, quilt making, reading, and watching movies. He also loved the great outdoors and liked to fly fish, golf, ski, hike, play pickleball and watch the birds.

Dave is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Mary; their children David Scott Lint of Mesick, Robert John (Julie) of Kingsley, Sara Ellen (Jim Provencher) Lint of Traverse City, Randall Edwyn (Jennifer) Lint of Victor, Montana and Jonathon Terrance (Elizabeth) Lint of Traverse City; grandchildren Erin, Kelsey, Emily, Becky, David Charles, Quinn, Camryn, Owen, Ellie, Katie, Lauren, Daniel and Megan; and sister Mary Ellen (Robert) Adams. Dave was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Kimberly Weber Lint.

The family has planned a memorial gathering for Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 4 – 7 pm at the outdoor pavilion adjacent to the Elmwood Township Hall (10090 E. Lincoln Road, Traverse City). All are welcome to come and say hi and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Benzie Symphony Orchestra or the NMC Children's Choir.
