INTERLOCHEN - David Arthur Mills age 82 of Interlochen, MI, passed away peacefully, of natural causes, on Monday, 1/15/18, in his home.
Born in Toledo, Ohio on March 19, 1935, David was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Mills.
David had also resided in Toledo, Sylvania, Ohio and St. Petersburg FL. David was an alumnus of Ohio State University, and a graduate of the University of Toledo. He served in the Ohio Air National Guard, USAF reserves and the USAF.
David worked for the International Division of Owens Illinois, was an accomplished builder and was a Toledo entrepreneur owning many businesses including Jim Feak's restaurant in downtown Toledo. He was a long time member of the First Congregational Church in Toledo as well as in Traverse City. He was an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity for over 50 years. David enjoyed flying R/C planes, fishing and working on his cars. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family.
David was probably the most outspoken and proud OSU fan in northern Michigan.
Surviving are former wife Susan Mills, sons Tim and David, II, grandchildren Austin, David, III and Angel, sister-in-law Sandra Mills and her children Kim and Brad and his beloved dog, Harley.
David was also preceded in death by his brother J. Thomas Mills of Kennett Square, PA.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from noon to four at Wisniewski and Wick Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd. Toledo, OH 43615..
Contributions in his memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of Traverse City, or the Cherryland Humane Society.
