David LaFond Perry was called to his eternal home in Heaven on August 19, 2015, in Traverse City, MI.

Dave was born in Algoma, WI, on May 13, 1937 to Clinton "Pete" Perry and Vione (LaFond) Perry. He was baptized June 20, 1937 and confirmed May 27, 1951. He was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Lutheran Church in Traverse City and a former member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in West Springfield, Virginia for 26 years.

Dave grew up in Algoma graduating from Algoma High School in 1955 and from University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career as a Field Service Engineer with a defense contractor in Minneapolis, MN and retired 35 years later from the same company (now owned by British Aerospace) as Director of Navy Programs in Washington D. C.

On August 1, 1964, he married Karen Celia Wright in Bay City, MI. They lived in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN where their three children were born and then in Fairfax County, VA. They retired to Traverse City in 2002.

Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen, son, Patrick (wife Lee MacDonald) Perry, grandchildren, Samuel, Grace, and Erin Perry, Bailey, and Keaton MacDonald, son, Matthew (wife Amanda) Perry, grandson, Caelan Perry, all of Traverse City, and daughter, Captain Katherine Perry, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Nicole Katherine Perry.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 28, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 912 S. Garfield Ave., Traverse City. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2015 also at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, and will be officiated by Pastor Jim Nihiser.
