In Loving Memory of David Whitfield Rutman (February 8, 1945 - September 6, 2023)

David Whitfield Rutman, aged 78, of Traverse City, peacefully passed away on September 6, 2023, at his home. He was born on February 8, 1945, in Wytheville, Virginia, to the late David and Katherine (Philippi) Rutman.

David dedicated 39 honorable years of his life to serving our country in the United States Air Force, where he excelled as a quality engineer for the military Department of Defense. Outside of his dedicated service, David found solace and enjoyment in golfing and solving Sudoku puzzles.

He is survived by his sons, Larry (Mary) Rutman, Brian (Joelle) Rutman, Shane (Jane) Rutman, step-daughters, Michelle (Almantas Galvanauskas) Stock, Laura Gougherty, his cherished grandchildren Kristian Rutman, Alyssa Rutman, Brandon Rutman, Alexandria Rutman, Jackson Rutman, Saulius Galvanauskas, Andrius Galvanauskas, Mia Gougherty, and a great-granddaughter, Amelia. David also leaves behind his half-brother, Jerry (Karen) Snider, along with numerous other beloved family members and friends and his special grandpups.

David is now reunited in eternal rest with his parents and his beloved wife, Rosalind "Linda" Moynihan. A family memorial service to celebrate his life will be planned for a later time. Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to the American Kidney Fund. www.kidneyfund.org
