David "Dave" William Kaley, 67, of Interlochen passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Munson Medical Center.

Dave was born on March 12, 1954 in Traverse City to Gerald "Red" and MaryLou (Dobson) Kaley. He married his true love Melissa Reed on August 7, 2004 on beautiful Grand Traverse Bay.

Dave graduated from Traverse City Central in 1972. He worked many years for Burdco and National Coatings as an estimator. Dave will be greatly missed in the construction industry. He just retired and was looking forward to taking the camper and side by side on many adventures with his wife Melissa.

In his spare time he enjoyed camping, traveling and drinking Miller Lite. He also liked to go to the Casino, hunt mushrooms and visit the ocean. Dave will be remembered for his quick wit and dedication to friends and family. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Surviving Dave is his wife Melissa, mother MaryLou, six kids including his "golden child" Jennifer Kaley, 9 grandchildren, sister Sandra (Ned) Kilmer, mother-in-law Tina Reed, 4 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law, his fur babies Brutus and Chumlee and many nieces and nephews on the Reed side.

Dave is preceded in death by his dad Red and his father-in-law Clyde Reed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 8, at 11am with a visitation held from 10-11am in the Gardens at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Dave would enjoy everyone wearing Levi's or something comfortable as it will be outside event. Memorial contributions may be directed to his wife for final expenses, c/o Tina Reed, P.O.
