Deborah Sue Solomonson, 53, of Traverse City passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Deborah was born on Monday, January 6, 1964 to Wilbur and Arlene (McCoy) Beall in Columbus, OH. As a child she moved often following the banking career of her father, but her high school years were spent at Douglas Macarthur High School in Saginaw, MI. After her graduation from high school she attended Michigan State University. She married John Solomonson at a service in Traverse City on September 8, 1989.
After college, Deborah moved to Traverse City and worked at the Traverse City Record Eagle, a local accounting firm and for the last seventeen years at the Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS). Her TCAPS family, and especially the kids at Courtade Elementary School, where she served as a school aide, were very special to her.
She will be remembered for her loving demeanor, her inner strength and incredible sense of humor. She was at times stubborn, but was always genuine and truly loved her family and her extended family, her co-workers and students at Courtade. She was a diehard Michigan State Spartans fan and loved the fierce rivalry with the other school from Michigan.
Deborah is survived by her husband John Solomonson of Traverse City; daughter Hannah Solomonson of Traverse City; sons Eric Solomonson and Jack Solomonson of Traverse City; parents Wilbur and Arlene (McCoy) Beall of Traverse City; sisters Jodi Reignard, Kelly (Dan) Ackert and Angie (Frank) Molitor; brother-in-law Pete (Erika) Solomonson; sister-in-law Sue Solomonson; mother-in-law Delores (Jeanne) Solomonson; special friend Megan; special aunt Mimi (Arnie) Kriegbaum; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Zeke Solomonson and brother-in-law Randy Reighard.
Per Deborah's wishes cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later time.
