Debra Ann Fountain, age 59, of Traverse City (formerly of Alma, MI) was welcomed home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Deb was a loving and determined woman. She worked 20 + years at the Grand Traverse County Sheriff Department as the Freedom of Information Coordinator. She enjoyed her job and had a great bond with her coworkers. She and her husband, Darrel, married in 1997, and the two of them created a beautiful life together. Some of Deb's favorite activities included hunting, fishing, boating, and traveling to tropical countries. Most of all, her family will remember her strong character and how she remained a fighter when life threw her unexpected curveballs.

Deb is survived by her husband of 27 years, Darrel; children: Alex Fountain, Holly (Joshua) DeRuiter; grandchildren: Makayla, Josiah, Silas; sister: Susan Wheeler; in-laws: Steve & Eva Fountain, Bonnie Fountain; siblings-in-law: Marvin (D'Ann) Fountain, Jackie (Jeff) Baker, Chris Fountain; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward & Beverly (LaBonville) Chase.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1003 S. Maple St, Traverse City. A light reception will follow. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Lakeview, MI. Memorial contributions may be given to the Cherryland Humane Society.
