Delores June Franke

Delores "Lori" June Franke, 78 of Traverse City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Munson Hospice House, with her family at her side.

Lori was born on April 18, 1935 in St. Louis, Michigan to the late Clarence Ray and Retha (Leonard) Wright, and moved to Traverse City in her childhood years. She attended Central High School in Traverse City and graduated in 1953.

Lori fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for the past three years, always keeping a smile. She loved the outdoors, being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known for her homemade cinnamon rolls. She was truly a giving person and always put others first.

Lori was married to Jack Franke from 1953 to 1969, having four children.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Sheila) Franke, Susan (Bob) Hogarth, Cindy (Eric) Sudekum and Deborah (Greg) Bush, her grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Trailer, Cara (Kevin) York, Leslie (Dustin) Ansorge, Lisa Bush and Rebecca Franke and Joel Franke. Her great grandchildren are Stella and Scarlett June York, Alyssa Ansorge and Lillian Trailer. Lori is survived by her loving sister Louise Whitson of Fremont, CA, her dear sister-in-law Lucille Wright of Lake Ann, MI and several nieces and nephews.

Lori was preceded in death by her long time companion of 43 years, W.E. Ragan of Traverse City and her brother Donald Ray Wright of Lake Ann, MI.

No memorial service is planned. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Munson Hospice House, 210 Beaumont, Traverse City, MI 49684. Lori will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
